Today Professional Learning Communities session began with the presentation of a movie created using XTRANORMAL. We gave an overview of the online application program, explaining the beginning basics to the groups. Team members then had work time to explore it uses and most created a short movie clip before the session was over. Everyone expressed that they really like the idea of using the new tool in the classroom. Suggestions were made on how the tool might be utilized to enhance instruction: summarize lessons, interview about a book, movie trailer/preview, character education, and word problems.
We also showed the group equipment that was available for use in the classroom including the flip video camera and the small handheld camcorder, that even the students could check out for class projects. They were reminded that they were welcomed to check out the equipment at any time to use in the classroom or to just practice to with and become more comfortable using it.
The session concluded with everyone agreeing they would like to practice using XTRANORMAL for a couple of weeks. They will create a short project to present at the next PLC session. The session was very engaging and productive.

We met with the Vipers due to Mitchell's absence. Were introduced to the school's wiki, then Penny led a discussion on where to go next. We plan to set up a PLC blog for us to communicate our wants and needs more effectively.
